Web 3.0 and it’s future

What is Web 3.0 and its future :

Before understanding the concept of Web 3.0, you must understand the web’s history. You can tell that whether a person is smart by asking them what Web 3.0 means. If they don’t know, that proves it.Web 3.0 is next big thing in the internet world and most people have no idea how it will look or when it’s coming. The Web 3.0 term is used to describe a hypothetical next generation of the World Wide Web. It is supposed to be more intelligent and user-friendly than the current version. No one really knows what Web 3.0 will look like, only that it will supposedly be a smarter web.

Web History :

The web started in 1991 as a system for scientists to share research papers and grew into a system for people to share cat photos. It means the need for a web occurs when someone shares the data from one place to another.

Web 1.0 :

Web 1.0 was all about connecting people’s information online. It was just a way for people to read online brochures and news articles. Web 1.0 was the first generation and allowed us to generate content

Key points about web 1.0 :

  • Web 1.0 was the first mass-marketing channel (i.e., a channel that appealed to everyone).
  • Web 1.0 focuses on the product and its features.
  • It was a revolutionary time for the Internet.
  • This was a great time to start a business.
  • It was a reaction to the industrial needs of the natural world.
  • It is built on top of a new technology called the Internet.

Web 2.0 :

Web 2.0 brought interactivity and connectivity to the web, allowing users to create their content and share it with others online easily. Definitive examples of Web 2.0 sites are Social media platforms, such as Twitter and Facebook. Web 2.0 unveiled the potential behind user-generated content.

Key points about web 2.0 :

  • Web 2.0 attributes to a new generation of websites that grew quickly and went mainstream.
  • Blogs, wikis, and online communities are examples of Web 2.0
  • Web 2.0 is different from the early web, and it has a feature called social networking
  • Web 2.0 is a new way to make websites work by leveraging the power of social networking and user-generated content
  • People are much more likely to engage with websites with a convenient interface because of web 2.0.
  • Web 2.0 is a community of people that share your interests.

Web 3.0 :

The first concept of Web 3.0 was first proposed in 2006 by John Markoff from The New York Times. He described Web 3.0 as a bridge between man and machine: “As computers become more widely distributed and more powerful, they will play an increasing role in our daily lives,” he wrote. “People will not only use these devices as tools but also as companions.”

Web 1.0 was all about making static web pages available online. Then Web 2.0 was just about connecting those web pages with hyperlinks that enabled us to travel from one webpage to another. Now, what is Web 3.0? The most important thing is that Web 3.0 is not just about viewing data on the web, but it is also about adding new data, updating data, and deleting data on the web.

Key points about the web 3.0 :

  • It is a word used to define the third generation of the World Wide Web, which will feature semantic web applications that can understand an individual’s needs and intentions.
  • Web 2.0 and web3.0 aren’t just different versions of the Internet but different ways of organizing information.
  • It is , aka the Web of Things, connects the physical world to the digital world.
  • It’s drastic change in how we produce and consume content and synchronize our thoughts and communicate.
  • It is virtual reality, augmented reality, Smart Cities
  • It is a combination of robotics, 3D printing, and the Internet of Things

Difference between web 1.0, 2.0 and 3.0

Web 1.0:

Basically Web 1.0 is a web where people can read the information written on websites.

Web 2.0:

So ,Web 2.0 is a web where people can read and write content on websites and applications.

Web 3.0:

Web 3.0 is a web where people can read-write-interact web (powered by artificial intelligence) where people can read, write and interact with content, including 3D graphics, on websites and apps.

Different Layers of Web 3.0 :

·       Nodes and nodes providers:

The first layer of Web 3.0 is Nodes and nodes providers. We rely on large corporations to host our data on the current Web, but on the decentralized Web, we will all host our data on our computers. The video-sharing app YouTube is a centralized platform and a corporation hosts it. Still, D Tube is a decentralized network of many users hosting their videos on computers worldwide.

For example, if you’re using Ethereum, you’re running your node. Or, if you’re using IPFS, you’re running your node when you use it. Those are examples of where people don’t have to pay a third party to store and serve their content; they can do it themselves.

·       APIs and API providers :

This layer of the Web 3.0 stack is that of APIs and API providers. This layer comprises organizations that provide data and services to applications through open Application Programming Interfaces APIs. These APIs are built on top of block chain protocols, and they provide application developers with access to data stored on the blockchain itself and other “off-chain” data.

Data is decentralized. It is stored on a distributed and immutable ledger.

Once an application developer has access to this data, they can use it in any way they want. They can combine different datasets and create whatever kind of applications they want.

·       Programmable blockchains:

This layer of the web, called web 3.0, is about to change the way we think of the internet and the applications that we use daily.

In contrast to the centralized architecture of web 2.0, it has a decentralized nature and uses cryptographic techniques to secure itself from attacks, Blockchain technology forms the backbone of this new and improved version of the internet. The underlying concept behind blockchain technology is that it eliminates the need for any third party or intermediary to verify transactions between two parties, i.e., a buyer and seller in our case. Instead, they can interact directly with each other.

web 3.0

·       Development platforms :

Web 3.0 development platforms are built to facilitate the delivery of a wide range of services and applications, which will deliver data in a more meaningful and secure manner.

web 3.0 development platform is a decentralized environment used to develop applications and other programs with the help of distributed ledger technology. A web 3.0 development platform is used to build applications on blockchain infrastructure and can be used for creating decentralized apps (DApps). Some of the standard web 3.0 development platforms include Ethereum, Bit Shares, Block stack, Holo chain, etc.

·       Decentralized applications :

This layer of web 3.0 is decentralized applications or d Apps. They are the way the average user will interact with Web 3.0, and their value proposition is quite compelling:

apps give users full control over their data with no intermediary. Users have complete privacy and trust between peers on the network without trusting a single party. Because they run on a block chain, they also have exceptional security and we can take it down by government interference or server outages.

Future of web 3.0 :

The future of the web is social.

What people are asking when they talk about web 2.0 is, “what’s next? What’s after a website?” And I think the answer is: the website as it has existed for the past ten years is an interim form that will be replaced by something better. The social web will be better because it will be more like life, which, as we all know, is pretty good.

The existence of Facebook illustrates how this will work, at least in part. Facebook is a way to have a life on the web. You can add friends, communicate with them, join groups, publish links and photos, etc.

As the term “web 3.0” gains popularity in the media,  different people use it with different meanings in mind. Some people think that it refers to the semantic web (a collection of technologies that make it easier for computers to understand the content on the web), while others believe that it just means “the next version.

Important points about the future of web 3.0 :

  • Blockchain technology will help us create smart contracts that will create better financial systems.
  • Web 3.0 may change the economy by creating new markets.
  • The Future of web 3.0 is moving faster than what we see today.
  • The Internet will become more open, decentralized, and global.
  • In the Future, Websites will be built in the browser instead of in a browser application.
  • Blockchain technology is a big part of the Future.
  • In short, Web 3.0 makes everything easier and more fun!

web 3.0

Advantages of web 3.0 :

Web 3.0 is the next generation’s web. It is a web that:

-is more intelligent

-understands the meaning of its content

-can understand and respond to the needs and desires of the user

-is aware of the user’s context and situation

-can automatically adapt and customize itself to fit the ability, expertise, or preference of individual users

-enables people to communicate knowledge rather than information and data

-empowers people to do things they were never able to do before.

Disadvantages of web 3.0:

  • Web 3.0 has its challenges, such as the difficulty of filtering out fake news Section: Demands on individuals’ time increases through numerous updates and notifications. Section: Privacy becomes increasingly important.
  • Google has too much influence Section: The web is centralized Section: Anonymity cannot be assumed Section: Advertisers do not care Section: The web is not open web 3.0 is good, but it still has disadvantages. check out here the further details.
